Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of NATO, is visiting Copenhagen today. As part of his agenda, Stoltenberg will have a joint meeting with members of the Foreign Policy and Defence Committees in the Danish Parliament. According to a source inside the Parliament, there will be discussions on the latest developments within NATO.
NATO is currently enhancing its presence by sending new forces to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Romania. The decision was taken at the North Atlantic Council meeting in February in Brussels. Stoltenberg then said the action is part of NATO’s goal to strengthen its deterrence and defence. The NATO Enhanced Forward Presence strategy is valid since Tuesday.
