Event encourages Danish tourism in America, forms a global partnership

On March 5, the seventh US Travel Show by Discover USA will be hosted in Copenhagen to promote Danish tourism in the US.

Anders Jakobsen, PR manager for Discover USA, said the event is an opportunity to highlight the travel industry. He said the over 60 US exhibitors such as travel agencies are able to make connections with delegations and establish a partnership for danes to travel to the US.

The goal of the event Jakobsen said is to encourage consumers to buy plane tickets. He said the event is primarily a business opportunity for participants because Danish tourists are among the highest spenders in the US.

Additionally, Jakobsen said the event builds interest between the two countries, from a tourism and political perspective.

“Tourism is an extension of diplomacy,” Jakobsen.
