B Corporations are a group of companies who resonate the same values and make bold commitments together. They work to reduce poverty levels, lower inequality and contribute to a better environment not just for employees, but the whole community. This is only some of the positive examples they lead.
Solvej Lee Ornstrand, the Head of Culture and Communication of PNO Rental stated that “We are on a journey, getting a B Corp certification is just the beginning. Our hope is to transform our business while also influencing our employees to be more engaged”.
Currently, there are 3,243 companies in 71 different countries apart of 150 industries all unifying one single goal – using business for a good cause. Companies such as Ben & Jerry’s and Patagonia are part of B Corp.
They have their own Declaration of Independence and plan on becoming net zero by 2030. They also have a goal to lower energy use by 15% in 2020 compared to 2019.
