DSB Ejendomsudvikling, Freja ejendomme and CFBO are planning to build a new district in Copenhagen: Jernbanebyen. That translates to the Railway City. It will be finished in 2030 if everything goes according to the current plan. There are already some businesses in the area that align with the DSB’s ideas and visions for the district. The unconventional restaurant “Banegaarden” that opened its doors last week is one of them. “We have 30 to 40 different companies in the area. Some of them have been there for years,” explains Morten Tjerrild, Press officer at DSB and responsible for the communication regarding Jernbanebyen.
The district will add to the green and sustainable side of Copenhagen. It is located right between the train tracks. You can still submit ideas and concepts for future development until September 28th. If you’re interested in the current situation in Jernbanebyen, you can visit the “Jernbanebyendage” on October 2nd and 3rd. They will take place under corona restrictions.
