Falun Gong being practiced by members of Falun Dafa I Danmark.
Lisa Lee is a volunteer for Falun Dafa I Danmark (Falun Dafa in Denmark), a volunteer organization that practices Falun Dafa (also referred to as Falun Gong) and provides free classes to the public if they wish to join and learn about the famous meditation. The volunteer organization also wants to help educate people through their work and services.
Once a week for two hours a day, Falun Gong is practiced in Copenhagen’s Stroget. Falun gong, a movement combining meditation and qigong exercises with moral philosophy, was founded in the early 1990’s in China. The practice was initially supported by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, but as time went on the government began to view Falun Gong as a possible threat due to the number of members and spiritual teachings. Soon after, in 1999, the practice of Falun Gong was banned and individuals were arrested for practicing meditation.
“We want people to know what has been happening in China for 20 years,” Lisa commented. “It isn’t a protest, we aren’t protesting, we want to spread awareness.” “We provide free classes, we want people to learn about Falun Gong and how to practice it while also learning about how bad the government (The CCP) is.”
